IIn 1995 the climbing wall at Peterborough Town Sports Club opened. It closed in March 2020 due to COVID. It did not re-open as the Town Sports Club did not want to renew our lease. There was a plan that there would be one opening at Ferry Meadows, but this has not materialized. This has meant we were without a climbing wall in Peterborough for some time.
At the end of May 2024, I was approached by Angle Entertainments about opening a bouldering wall at their premises in Lincoln Road. They need some help with route setting. So, I arranged for Dan Grammatica and Dan Flatt to help them with this.
The wall then opened on 6 July 2024. Dan Grammatica and Dan Flatt continued to help them reset the routes. On 1 August 2024 PMC had a free evening meet there. They then arranged for PMC members to get 20% discount on Thursday after 5pm.
Things were running well until in June 2025 a pipe burst and flooded Angle Climbing and it had to close. There was no insurance and getting funding to rebuild and re-open was proving difficult a new owners has now taken over and started to rebuild. We are now looking forward to it re-opening in early 2026.
